Stage 2: Warkworth to Craster

Warkworth to Craster

20.4kms or 13 miles

Stage Two of the Northumberland Coast Path sees some of Northumberland's most spectacular beaches and coastline.

Leaving Warkworth across the medieval bridge the path head through dunes and coastal grasslands to the Aln Estuary and the village of Alnmouth. Beyond Alnmouth and the former smuggling den of Boulmer lie picturesque sandy bays, rocky headlands which, in summer home to noisy kittiwakes. The end of Stage two is the tiny port of Craster with its traditional smokehouse and famous 'Craster Kippers'.
